Key Group trial leads to launch countdown
Vistage Scotland Chairman Gary Weston hosted a lively Key Group taster event in Edinburgh recently. Aimed at entrepreneurs and direct reports, the event successfully demonstrated the benefits of joining a Key Group by working through an issue process with a number of the prospective Vistage members.
There was lots of positive feedback about the exercise. Ben Rogers of the pay-per-click advertising agency Attacat, commented, ‘It was good to get different perspectives on an issue facing my business not just from other people but from other industries. I can see how the issue process would be very useful.’
Leigh Wilson, managing director of the private aviation firm Jet Logic, agreed: ‘It is a great way of bouncing ideas off other people. We discuss the challenges and opportunities for our business in the office but not in the same way as this. I think it could be very beneficial for us.’
Vistage Key Group 226 hopes to launch within the next month. Already, it has an interestingly diverse collection of people signed up with members who work in tea manufacturing, training development, office leasing and British Waterways. Chairman Gary Weston is looking forward to the Group launch.
‘Once the group is up and running, I expect it to grow very quickly,’ he says. ‘I hope to have around a dozen members taking part in the group by the summer.’
